Medora Community Schools is seeking a licensed  SLP for the 2023-2024 school year. The SLP will serve both the elementary and junior-senior high schools. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of students with disabilities in the areas of speech and language
  • Cooperate with classroom teachers and staff members to implement therapy
  • Assist and guide teachers in observing, describing and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments
  • Provide screening and/or evaluation to identify speech and language needs for students
  • Assist with referrals of students to agencies and specialists as appropriate
  • Write, implement and regularly monitor Individual Education Plans (IEP)for students
  • Serve as Teacher of Record or Teacher of Service in accordance with Article 7
  • Participate in case conference committee meetings as students' teacher to assist in developing measurable goals, benchmarks, and objects to meet student needs
  • Maintain detailed service records
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as may be assigned by the director of special education or building principal

Any sections of the Corporation's collectively bargained contracts dealing with hiring, promotion, and tenure should contain a statement of nondiscrimination similar to that in the Board's statement above. In addition, any gender-specific terms should be eliminated from such contracts.
